Crypto analyst Willy Woo wrote: "Don't assume that M2 (broad money supply) growth will necessarily drive bitcoin higher. At the end of the cycle, bitcoin tends to move ahead of M2. My personal opinion is that based on the model of capital inflows and outflows into bitcoin and the cryptocurrency space, we may well have peaked.
Fed interest rates are falling and more money is being issued, which makes you think the global M2 money supply will rise. But if global investors are buying dollars instead of risky assets, the dollar will strengthen and global M2 (denominated in dollars) will fall.
