The UK's Major Fraud Office (SFO) has launched an investigation into cryptocurrency scam Basis Markets.
Basis Markets raised around $28 million through NFT sales and a cryptocurrency hedge fund at the end of 2021. The SFO, backed by the Metropolitan Police and West Yorkshire Police, arrested two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, on suspicion of multiple fraud and money laundering charges. Investigators are appealing for information from informed investors to assist in the investigation.
