Swiss crypto bank Amina Bank, together with Crypto Finance Group and its partner banks, recently completed a distributed ledger technology (DLT) pilot through Google Cloud Universal Ledger: enabling fiat settlements between regulated Swiss banks in near real time, 24/7.
The pilot did not introduce a new digital currency, but continued to use traditional commercial bank funds, demonstrating that DLT technology can seamlessly integrate traditional banking systems under the existing regulatory and compliance framework. According to the official, this achievement lays the foundation for the future promotion of "cross-border transfer", "multi-currency settlement" and "physical point of sales (POS) integrated payment", which means that the traditional financial system may usher in a Web3/blockchain infrastructure transformation.
