From the evening of November 27th to the morning of November 28th local time, a key data center used by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group in the United States was suspended for more than 10 hours due to overheating. It is reported that this key data center is located in Aurora, a suburb west of Chicago. After the failure of air-conditioning equipment in the data center, the temperature rose to nearly 49 degrees Celsius, which exceeded the maximum temperature stipulated by the US industry by about 48%, resulting in service interruption. It is not clear why CME Group has not opened a backup data center in the New York area. Some people familiar with the matter speculated that the possible reason may be that the large traders quoted by CME Group have insufficient technical infrastructure in the backup data center, so they are more willing to wait for the failure in Aurora to end.
