CME partially restored, important foreign exchange platforms restarted
2025-11-28 12:42:39
On Friday, CME began gradually resuming operations after disrupting trading in global markets for up to several hours. The electronic brokerage system (EBS) used for foreign exchange trading has reopened at 20:00 Beijing time, according to a notice on the CME website. But it did not say when other affected markets, from stocks to bonds and commodities, would resume operations. The foreign exchange market, which traded continuously throughout the day, did not experience major fluctuations after reopening. The outage was longer than a similar, multi-hour outage in 2019 due to a technical error, and underscores the reach of CME Group and its Globex electronic trading platform.
