In response to Upbit's theft of about 44.50 billion won (about $36 million) of cryptoassets, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju wrote today that the attack method disclosed by Upbit is "almost impossible for ordinary hackers to complete".
Upbit previously said that attackers could "infer private keys" by analysing a user's wallet address patterns. Ki Young Ju bluntly said that such attacks are extremely difficult technically, and if true, "I doubt that any hacking group other than North Korean Lazarus can do this".
