According to Cointelegraph, Visa has announced a new partnership with crypto infrastructure company Aquanow that will expand its stablecoin settlement business in the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMEA) region. The partnership will utilize approved stablecoins such as USDC for transaction settlement, with the aim of reducing cross-border transfer costs, reducing operational friction, and shortening settlement times. Godfrey Sullivan, head of products and solutions at Visa CEMEA, said the move will allow institutions in the region to "experience faster and easier settlement" and reduce reliance on traditional multi-intermediary systems.
