South Korea's financial regulator has urged Bithumb to suspend its Tether market service, which allows customers to use USDT to buy and sell bitcoin and nine counterfeit products with higher market capitalization, but all 10 assets can continue to be traded in the Korean won (KRW) market.
The crypto trading platform said the service is still in beta testing and involves an order book sharing agreement with Stellar.
Due to system maintenance, the service will be shut down at 11am South Korean time on November 28 and will be re-integrated to "provide a more stable and advanced trading environment," Bithumb said. "We will provide a separate update on the service reopening schedule."
Bithumb will suspend the beta testing service of the USDT market until further notice
