Analyst @obchakevich_ posted on the X platform that as a cryptocurrency card issuer, Visa dominates with a monthly transaction volume of $365 million.
The analysis selected 13 representative cryptocurrency cards and concluded by calculating their on-chain transfer transaction volume, card deposit, payment, and internal payment functions of the card service. Among the 13 projects, Visa related projects as many as 10, while Mastercard only had 3. The main drivers of Visa transfer transaction volume growth are Rain Card, RedotPay, and Etherfi Cash, which together amount to $320 million.
The analyst said that most projects launching crypto cards chose Visa because it is easier to issue, cheaper to operate and less risky to comply with. Mastercard is reliable, but it has more rigorous audits and higher fees, so it has fewer payment options. Notably, Visa has more cryptocurrency cards in the market thanks to Rain.
