US President Donald Trump on Tuesday abandoned a previous deadline for a peace deal in Ukraine, which had been set for Thursday (Thanksgiving) to require Ukraine to accept a US-backed peace plan. "For me, the deadline is when things are resolved," he said. Trump said US negotiators had made progress in talks with Russia and Ukraine and that Moscow had agreed to make certain concessions. He said Witkov, his special envoy for the Middle East, would travel to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner was also involved in the mediation work.
