Houston Morgan, a ShapeShift executive, said JPMorgan Chase abruptly closed his business accounts on Friday and informed him that his personal accounts would also be closed this week, citing "protecting Chase's Financial Institution Group". Morgan said the process went without warning, was not asked for additional information, and there was no opportunity to appeal. The incident follows the closure of Strike CEO Jack Mallers' account, which reignited concerns about the "debanking" of the US crypto industry. JPMorgan did not respond to a request for comment.
