US Treasury: The U.S. budget deficit in October was $284 billion, and the market expected deficit to be $2350.5 billion, compared with $257 billion a year earlier. October spending was $689 billion; revenue was $404 billion, a record high in October, and net tariff revenue was $31.4 billion in October, a record high, well above the $7.3 billion in the same period in 2024.
