US-listed crypto wallet provider Exodus Movement (NYSE American: EXOD) announced the acquisition of W3C Corp, the parent company of crypto card and payment companies Baanx and Monavate, for $175 million. Exodus said the deal consisted of "its own cash and financing secured by Exodus' bitcoin holdings and provided by Galaxy Digital".
Baanx and Monavate have been working with companies such as Visa, Mastercard and MetaMask on crypto cards and self-hosted Web3 payments. Exodus noted that the acquisition makes it "one of the few self-managed wallets that can control the end-to-end payment experience, integrating wallet-to-card".
