US-listed bitcoin ETFs have seen outflows of $3.50 billion this month, close to the monthly outflow record of $3.60 billion set in February 2024. BlackRock's IBIT fund redeemed as much as $2.20 billion, accounting for 60%, which may be the worst monthly performance of the fund since its launch. The withdrawal of funds added to the downward pressure on bitcoin, and the price fell to $80,553 at one point. Citi Research estimates that every $1 billion redemption will drag down the (spot) price by about 3.4%, and vice versa.
