According to Aerodrome, in the previous domain hijacking attack suffered by the protocol, the attack was completely mitigated in less than 4 hours, and users lost about $700,000.
It is reported that major wallets such as MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet started displaying warnings within two minutes of the first malicious transaction being detected. The losses were limited to users who connected and signed transactions while the malicious website was active.
The team is currently working with security consultants and corporate registrars and expects the domain to be migrated and reopened next week. Additionally, Aero and the Velo Foundation are devising plans to provide affected users with grants proportional to the loss.
