The State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Interim Provisions on Anti-Unfair Competition on the Internet"

On May 11th, the "Regulations" have the following characteristics: First, insist on encouraging innovation. Protect the innovation achievements of enterprises, and strive to promote the Internet industry to give full play to its maximum innovation potential. Second, strive to standardize competition. In line with the new characteristics, new trends and new requirements of the development of China's digital economy, improve the standards and regulatory requirements for the identification of various types of online unfair competition behaviors. It clarifies the new manifestations of traditional unfair competition behaviors such as counterfeiting confusion and false propaganda in the network environment, and enumerates new online unfair competition behaviors such as reverse swiping and illegal data acquisition. And sets up miscellaneous provisions to provide regulatory basis for new problems and new behaviors that may arise. Third, strengthen the protection of consumer rights and interests. In response to social concerns, we will regulate the current focus issues in China's online consumption that infringe on consumers' rights and interests, such as credit speculation, praise cashback, and affecting user choice, and provide policy support for solving new problems in the emergence of new online consumption scenarios and new business models.
