The White House is preparing for a possible cabinet shake-up after the first anniversary of President Donald Trump's return to office that could destabilize his otherwise stable administration, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. So far, Trump's cabinet has been relatively stable, by design, as officials close to the president want to avoid an image of excessive turnover during Trump's first term. But that could change by January. At least one federal agency that could see a shake-up is the Department of Homeland Security, which is led by Christie Noam and is responsible for implementing the large-scale deportation of illegal immigrants promised during Trump's campaign. The sources also said there could also be a turnover at the Department of Energy. The department is run by Chris Wright, whose relationship with the White House has soured in recent months. Responding to reports, Mr. Levitt, the White House press secretary, said: "The cabinet is not going to change, no matter how much CNN wants to see it. The media survives on drama."
