"Fed Speaker" Nick Timiraos on the October Fed meeting notes: "At the October meeting of Fed officials, divisions deepened over whether rates should be cut next month, leading to a growing number of policymakers (possibly a slim majority) feeling uneasy about a December rate cut. Several participants assessed that further rate cuts in December may be appropriate if the economy develops in line with their expectations for the upcoming intersession. Many participants (not necessarily all FOMC voting committees) said that, based on their economic outlook, it may be appropriate to keep the target range unchanged for the rest of the year. 'Many' contains a larger number than'Several '. The December vote looks set to be very tight."
