Tether announced last week that it had supported a "co-ordinated" international operation by the Royal Thai Police and the US Secret Service, which resulted in the seizure of about 12 million USDT, worth about 400 million baht, linked to "a large fraud network operating across South East Asia".
It is reported that the operation was carried out by the Technology Crime Department (TCSD) under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DES) of Thailand, as part of the country's efforts to combat online fraud and money laundering.
The Royal Thai Police said law enforcement had arrested "73 suspects, including 51 Thai citizens and 22 foreigners, and seized assets worth more than 522 million baht".
