The Labor Department plans to complete the missing weekly jobless claims data for the shutdown by the end of Thursday, a spokesperson for the Labor Department said. Ryan Honick, the spokesperson, said that due to technical problems, an initial figure - the number of initial jobless claims for the week ended October 18 was 232,000, which was unexpectedly released earlier than expected. Honick said that the Labor Department will not issue a supporting press release as usual when making up the missing data. The missing data will be posted directly on the Labor Department's official website. The latest announcement from the Labor Department also shows that it plans to release the PPI data for September at 21:30 Beijing time on November 25 and the import and export price index for September at 21:30 Beijing time on December 3. In addition, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also announced that it will start publishing reports on traders' positions this week. The first report is expected to be released in the early hours of Thursday, Beijing time. The CFTC will issue up to two reports a week until January 23 next year, when the publishing schedule will return to normal.
