Proposals SIP-033 and SIP-034 have been officially activated at block height 923222, and the Clarity 4 smart contract language has been simultaneously launched on the Bitcoin smart contract layer Stacks.
This upgrade adds six new core features for developers: on-chain contract code hash acquisition and verification, contract custom postcondition settings, simple value to ASCII string, current block timestamp acquisition, secp256r1 signature verification (supporting native key integration), and dimensionalized resource tenure extension mechanism. These features will lower the development threshold for Bitcoin native DeFi applications, help build more secure and flexible financial protocols, and further strengthen Stacks' positioning as the liquidity layer of the Bitcoin ecosystem. All transactions of Stacks are settled on the Bitcoin chain, relying on the transfer proof mechanism to obtain Bitcoin cyber security protection.
