Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, points out that the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX (founded by Sam Bankman-Fried) is the antithesis of what the Ethereum blockchain network represents: Ethereum is decentralized, "can't be evil" and a community.
The crypto billionaire took to the main stage at the Ethereum Devconnect conference in Argentina on Monday, wearing a pair of Willy Wonka-inspired sunglasses, a crumpled Moo Deng T-shirt, and lashing out at the former FTX CEO.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Buterin cut to the first slide of the speech, which featured a photo of Bankman-Fried and an earlier quote from the imprisoned crypto tycoon: "I entered crypto because I wanted to have the greatest positive impact on the world."
