Analysts at investment bank TD Cowen pointed out that with the federal government back in operation, the Securities Exchange Commission will enter a critical period in the next 12 months, and the agency is working on the regulation of the cryptocurrency industry.
In a report, TD Cowen's Washington research team, led by Jaret Seiberg, said market focus had shifted to the policy agenda of SEC chairperson Paul Atkins following the end of the longest government shutdown. "With the reopening of government, the SEC will enter the most important 12 months of the Atkins presidency, and its deregulation agenda will enter a substantive phase," Seiberg said on Monday.
