On November 17, the WeChat Security Center issued a document saying, "Recently, it has received complaints from users that some WeChat accounts have organized pyramid schemes, fraud and other illegal and criminal acts in the WeChat group. Such acts use the guise of national asset thawing, national policies and engineering projects, as well as blockchain virtual coins, stablecoins, etc., and use high returns as bait to induce users to join the WeChat group. In the group, users are encouraged to pull people into the group, publish unknown links to guide the download of fraudulent apps, carry out daily check-in, conference courses and other brainwashing activities, and eventually commit fraud. The above acts seriously violate the property rights and interests of users.
Once the above behavior is found and verified, the platform will handle the relevant accounts in a step-by-step manner according to the severity of the violation in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, as well as the platform agreements and rules such as the "Tencent Software License and Service Agreement" and the WeChat Personal Account Use Specification ". Those who violate the rules multiple times may permanently restrict login, and disable the group function of the WeChat group that confirms the violation."
