Privy, a provider of authentication tools, has extended the multi-factor authentication (MFA) capabilities of embedded wallets, adding support for passkey. Once MFA is activated, MFA authentication is required for any operation to access the wallet private key, such as signing a message, sending a transaction, exporting the wallet, or restoring the wallet on a new device. Passkey enables users to authenticate using biometric data, thus enhancing security and experience.
Privy also supports SMS and one-time password verification apps as MFA methods. Privy's toolkit allows developers to integrate web2 login options into their apps, including email, SMS, and social media logins.
