Federal prosecutors say the trial of Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm followed the law and the judge hearing the case should not have considered acquitting him.
In a post-trial filing on Wednesday, lawyers for the Justice Department's Southern District of New York office rejected Storm's motion for acquittal, saying they had amply demonstrated that Storm created and controlled Tornado Cash, a cryptocurrency mixing service that has been sanctioned by the United States for being used by North Korea and other countries. The filing refutes Storm's motion for acquittal, a procedural move he took after his conviction on conspiracy charges earlier this year.
