Global ETF issuance is exploding, with the number of global ETF offerings rising 19% year-on-year to a record 137 in October, according to a market analysis released by Kobeissi Letter. That brings the total ETF issuance so far this year to 918, 25% higher than the full-year record of 736 in 2024. Equity ETFs added 95 listings in October, accounting for 69% of the total. Cryptocurrency ETFs added 15 listings, more than double the number in September. Leveraged equity and structured product ETFs accounted for nearly half of all new funds at 67. At the current rate, the total number of ETFs issued in 2025 will exceed 1,100, ushering in a new historical issuance boom.
