US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he plans to file a lawsuit against the BBC over clips from his January 6, 2021 speech in its investigative documentary series Panorama, according to the New York Post. "We will probably sue them sometime next week for between 1 billion and 5 billion dollars," Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Friday night, adding that he planned to discuss the matter with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer this weekend. A BBC spokesperson said on Thursday: "The BBC's lawyers have responded to President Trump's legal team regarding a letter received on Sunday. BBC Chairperson Samir Shah also sent a separate personal letter to the White House, clearly expressing to President Trump that he and the BBC are deeply sorry for the editing of Trump's speech on January 6, 2021.
