The Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission announced the re-appointment of Chief Executive Officer Liang Fengyi for a two-year term, effective January 1, 2026. It is reported that Liang Fengyi will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission since January 1, 2023. During her tenure, she launched the licensing system for virtual asset trading platforms and released the virtual asset roadmap, which is more friendly to the digital asset industry and said that the future of digital assets is dynamic and promising. At the same time, she also mentioned that the regulatory concept of the same business, the same risk and the same rules will be adopted to bring crypto and custodian institutions over the counter into the regulatory scope.
