The three major U.S. stock indexes collectively opened lower

U.S. stocks opened with the Dow down 0.49%, the S & P 500 index down 1.05% and the Nasdaq down 1.45%. Digital currency concepts and gold mining stocks mostly weakened, with Coinbase (COIN. O) down 4.8% and Harmony Gold (HMY. N) down 4.1%. Technology stocks went green, Tesla (TSLA. O) fell 3.78% and NVIDIA (NVDA. O) fell 2.1%.
