On November 14, it was reported that ZK Nation has opened a vote on the proposal to "upgrade the ZK token contract and introduce a permissionless destruction function".
The proposal includes a proposal to upgrade the ZK token contract to ZKTokenV3, which is minimally expanded on the basis of ZKTokenV2, with new features including: public destruction (any token holder can permanently destroy their own tokens); address holding BURNER_ROLE can destroy tokens from designated accounts; allow any program to read the maximum supply of 21 billion ZKs in the contract, and enforce this limit when new tokens are minted.
This upgrade lays the foundation for ZKnomics' vision to achieve supply management through programmable token destruction.
