According to Techinasia, Coinbase has launched Coinbase Business in Singapore, its first international expansion outside the United States. The new platform provides cryptocurrency trading and payment services to local startups and small businesses, and relies on a partnership with Standard Chartered to support real-time transfers in Singapore dollars.
Coinbase said the service, which allows businesses to settle payments instantly using stablecoins such as USDC and XSGD, is designed to reduce international transaction costs and the risk of chargebacks. The company is currently accepting early access applications from eligible local businesses in Singapore. The move follows Coinbase's recent participation in the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) BLOOM initiative, which focuses on digital asset settlements in Singapore.
