Goldman Sachs estimated that US non-farm payrolls fell by about 50,000 in October, the largest decline since 2020. Its job growth tracker slowed to 50,000 from 85,000 in September, and another 100,000 jobs were cut as a result of the Trump administration's "deferred separation program". The bank pointed to higher job cuts and weaker labour market indicators.
