Kazakhstan is establishing a national cryptocurrency reserve fund worth 500 million to 1 billion dollars, partly funded by assets seized from overseas and repatriated. Central bank governor Timur Suleimenov said the fund's investments will include exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and shares of companies involved in digital currency businesses. He said in an interview that the fund will be "very cautious about holding cryptocurrencies directly". Suleimenov revealed that the fund is expected to be officially launched by the end of the year or in January next year.
