The latest report from Google's Threat Intelligence Group shows that at least five new types of malicious software have been discovered that are dynamically generating and hiding malicious code using large language models (LLMs). Among them, the North Korea-linked hacking group UNC1069 was found to use Gemini to detect wallet data and create phishing scripts with the intention of stealing digital assets.
The malicious software uses "real-time code creation" techniques to circumvent traditional security detection by invoking external AI models such as Gemini or Qwen 2.5-Coder. Google said it had disabled the relevant accounts and strengthened security measures for model access.
