US equities continued to come under pressure this week as investors questioned the sustainability of high valuations for tech stocks. Ahmad Assiri, research strategist at Pepperstone, said the correction was not a structural collapse but a reality check. He pointed out that the Nasdaq's roughly 2 per cent decline reflected more a reaction to market valuations than deteriorating fundamentals, and the absence of a significant surge in the VIX index further supported this view.
