Texas residents fail to vote against noise: Bitcoin mine disturbance continues
2025-11-06 03:05:32
According to Cointelegraph, a vote by residents of Hood County, Texas, to control the noise of local bitcoin mining farms by establishing a new municipal district called "Mitchell Bend" was rejected, with only 38% of voters supporting it. About 600 local residents have been struggling with the noise of 60,000 bitcoin mining machines operated by MARA for years, causing health problems such as insomnia and headaches. Although MARA has expanded soundproof walls and partially adopted liquid cooling systems, the noise problem has not been solved.
