Franklin Templeton has launched Hong Kong's first tokenized money market fund, a Luxembourg-registered fund backed by short-term US Treasury bonds that issues digital tokens representing investors' shares through blockchain technology. The move echoes HKMA's newly announced Fintech 2030 Plan, launched this week by Chief Executive Officer Vivian Yu, which includes more than 40 measures aimed at integrating artificial intelligence tools, developing a tokenized ecosystem and enhancing financial sector resilience.
