Shanghai: By 2027, the city's total social logistics expenses should be reduced to less than 12% of GDP

On November 5th, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government issued the "Shanghai Action Plan for Reducing Costs, Improving Quality and Efficiency in Transportation and Logistics", which proposes that by 2027, the ratio of the city's total social logistics expenses to GDP should be reduced to less than 12%. The internationalization of shipping and the competitiveness of international logistics have been significantly improved. The container throughput of the port has exceeded 52 million TEUs. The turnover of waterway freight has increased by about 8% compared with 2023. The volume of iron and water combined transportation has maintained a rapid growth. The carrying capacity and service level of transportation and logistics have continued to increase. The strong chain of transportation infrastructure networking has been further promoted. The level of urban production and living and material distribution has been significantly improved. The service capabilities of sea-rail combined transportation, river-sea combined transportation, and road-rail combined transportation have been continuously strengthened, the digital and intelligent green transformation of multimodal transportation has been accelerated, and a number of internationally competitive transportation and logistics enterprises have gradually formed.
