Coinbase Inc. has decided to drop its lawsuit against DynaPass Inc., which claims the software company has unsubstantiated claims that the cryptocurrency trading platform infringed a patent related to two-factor authentication. According to a notice of withdrawal filed on October 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the parties reached an agreement that includes a promise clause: DynaPass will not sue Coinbase, its customers, suppliers, partners or other members of the non-profit advocacy organization CryptoOpenPatentAlliance. In its lawsuit filed back in September, Coinbase sought a declarative judgment from the court confirming that the company did not infringe DynaPass's U.S. Patent No. 6,993,658 and challenging the validity of the patent.
