Alphabet, Google's parent company, is understood to be planning to raise about $15 billion through a US dollar bond issue, which will be split into up to eight tranches with maturities ranging from three to 50 years. The banks responsible for the issue include HSBC, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase. Alphabet plans to use the US dollar bond and the funds raised with another Eurobond issue for general corporate purposes, which could include paying down existing debt.
