OpenAI has updated its policy on the use of ChatGPT on October 29, banning it from providing services in certain application fields - such as interpreting medical images, assisting with medical diagnostics, and providing legal or financial advice - that would otherwise be considered most valuable. The move is intended to prevent ChatGPT (and any other OpenAI model) output from potentially being considered professional, fiduciary, or legally binding advice to comply with the European Union artificial intelligence Act (EU AI Act) and the relevant guidance requirements of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
