Chinese fund house Harvest Global Investments, one of the first issuers of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Hong Kong, has confirmed plans to open the funds to Chinese mainland investors through Stock Connect.
Han Tongli, chief executive of Harvest Funds, discussed at the Bitcoin Asia conference the possibility of including these ETFs in the ETF Connect program, which is part of a broader "Stock Connect" program launched in 2014 to connect Hong Kong to exchanges in mainland China. Han Tongli said that as long as all goes well in the next two years, we will not rule out applying for our ETF to be included in the interconnection program.
