Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted a radical future in a podcast: In the next 5-6 years, traditional mobile phones and apps will disappear, and most of the content consumed by humans will be generated by AI.
"In the future, there will be no operating system, there will be no APP, your phone will just display pixels and make sounds, it will predict what you want to see and hear most, and then generate in real time, and we will integrate AI into this device as much as possible.... There will be no more traditional mobile phones. What we call a mobile phone is actually an edge node for AI inference, equipped with some radio modules for connection."
Musk has floated the idea that essentially the server-side AI will communicate with the AI on the user's device (formerly known as the phone) and generate any live video the user wants.
