Hong Kong law enforcement recently detained a 70-year-old businessperson accused of involvement in the disappearance of a cryptocurrency investor. The businessperson and his 30-year-old son were arrested shortly after they turned themselves in, the South China Morning Post reported. The two were allegedly involved in a conspiracy that resulted in an unnamed cryptocurrency investor being wrongfully imprisoned for failing to return more than $1.90 million (15 million Hong Kong dollars) the businessperson had invested in his virtual currency project. Although the businessperson and his son were not directly involved in the kidnapping, they were still detained for questioning as of May 9, the report said.
