Haruhiko Kuroda, former governor of the Bank of Japan, said the yen was likely to strengthen to around Y120 to Y130 to the dollar as the gap between Japanese and US interest rates was expected to narrow sooner or later.
"The current level of around Y153 to the dollar is too weak," Haruhiko Kuroda said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on the sidelines of the Barclays Asia Forum in Singapore on Thursday. "At some stage, the yen will recover to Y120 or Y130 to the dollar," he said. (Jin Ten)
