UBS says clients are increasingly focused on hedging downside risks

UBS said its clients were bracing for a market downturn and warned that sentiment around booming markets could shift quickly. "Investors remain active but are increasingly focused on hedging downside risks" because of high valuations across most asset classes, UBS said in its third-quarter results on Wednesday. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, UBS noted that "sentiment could shift rapidly as confidence in the outlook is tested and seasonality affects". There is little sign of that happening.
