Tether is considering setting up an entity in the United States and participating in political donations related to the 2026 US election. CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company was unhappy with Fairshake, the main political action committee (PAC) of the crypto industry, saying it ended up "serving the interests of one company".
Fairshake is a cryptocurrency political action committee that rose to prominence during the 2024 election by pouring $133 million into pro-cryptocurrency candidates.
