Coinbase has expanded its partnership with institutional staking provider Figment, and Coinbase Prime customers can now pledge Solana, Avalanche, Sui, Aptos, and other PoS assets directly through Coinbase custody, previously limited to Ethereum. Since the partnership in 2023, more than $2 billion in assets have been pledged.
Coinbase Prime offers trading, financing and custody services to institutional investors, covering more than 440 digital assets. Figment manages a total of $18 billion in pledged assets across more than 40 protocols. The move comes as the US launches multiple staked ETFs, such as the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL), and is expected to further expand institutional staking activity after the SEC confirms that some liquid staking is not a securities transaction.
