Microsoft will hold a 27% stake in OpenAI and gain access to AI models

Microsoft (MSFT. O) and OpenAI have finalized a new deal after long negotiations. According to a joint statement released on Tuesday, Microsoft will receive a 27% stake in OpenA I, worth about $135 billion. In addition, Microsoft will be allowed to use the artificial intelligence startup's technology until 2032, including those models that have met general artificial intelligence (AGI) benchmarks. As part of the agreement, Microsoft will no longer have the right of first refusal on OpenAI's computing power, but OpenAI has promised to spend an additional $250 billion on Azure services.
